How It All Began
Greg is passionate about toy trains and has been since 1966 when he received a Lionel No. 2270 Jersey Central Passenger Set. This famed set is the spark in a lifelong dedication to model trains and vintage toys. After years of collecting and studying toy trains, Gregory was selling pristine, boxed Lionel trains by 1984. Shortly after, in 1989, he founded Hake’s Treasure Chest. It soon became the world’s leading authority on Lionel empty boxes and MINT in Box Lionel trains. Through the years, Greg’s expertise grew to include Hot Wheels, Tonka, Smith Miller. Eventually he added Arcade, GI Joe, vintage toys, and baseball cards.
